| "My regular, please." That consisted of an egg & cheese bagel sandwich on sesame along with my large hazelnut coffee from DD. Being the asian that I am, of course I got the large coffee...and of course, being the asian that I am, I always drank all of it. That began my coffee addiction. Random, but not out of character I suppose, I approached her and started a somewhat awkward conversation. She chatted back. To be honest, I was surprised. Perhaps with all those stereotypical childhood stories (and memories), I always found it difficult to befriend a pretty girl, being a not-so-cool one myself. But S was different, she was super nice. "I'm from Toronto," she said. Ooh....That's why! She became my closest friend during my two years out on the east coast. We somehow survived the Xs, the Ys, and the Zs. We laughed, we cried, and we partied for the good and the bad. We learned from Samantha, shared similar ambitions as Miranda, cried for Charlotte, and lived like Carrie (minus the shoes). At our graduation, even the school-journal photographer captured a picture of us hugging. (Yes, that's me). We spent the last labor day weekend reliving the good times, hitting the SF nightlife with just us girls, staying up late, and talking about everything...if only my friends were closer.
